Britney Spears to open chain of wedding chapels

Diet centers may be next

LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- While much of the public wonders about the behavior of Britney Spears, marketing experts envy her creativity. Just as her face begins to fade from tabloid covers, she manages to gain headlines through seemingly wacky behavior.

"Wacky like a fox," is how Miriam Wepsaddle, publicist and long-time celebrate-watcher put it after learning of her weekend marriage to boy-pal and drinking buddy, Jason Alexander.

According to sources close to the singer and entertainer, Ms. Spears plans to open franchises of 24-hour wedding chapels here and in other tourist locations including Orlando, Honolulu, Phoenix, San Francisco, and Branson, Mo.

Tentatively called "Britney Spears No-Tears No-Fears Midriff Wedding Chapels," the facilities will feature rock and roll music, bubble gum treats and of course Pepsi. To celebrate the opening of the chapels, set for this Spring, a number of special, cut-rate wedding options will be available. Among them are the following:

Early Mornin' Wedding
. This option, titled after a tune from the former Mouseketeer's In the Zone album, will be available to those who choose to wed between the hours of 3:00 am and 8:00 am.

Oops!...I Did It Again Nuptials
. This ceremony is for those who are tying the knot for a second or third time... or more. It is named after Ms. Spears' song that sold 1.3 million units in its opening week in 2000.

The Kiss
. As an extension of the buzz created by "the kiss" with Madonna during the MTV Video Music Awards program this past year, a special discount will be offered to same-sex partners who choose to marry before the end of the year.

In related news, Travel Fox has learned that Ms. Spears has held preliminary meetings with The Zone diet book author Barry Sears regarding the potential of opening a chain of diet centers called, naturally, "In the Zone."
